haha, mistletoe is actually an herbal abortion remedy....it was originally used in pagan rituals during samhain (aka winter solstice). the community would gather in the center camp, if you will, and have a delicious mass orgy and to make sure women did not suffer the burden of this fun, mistletoe was picked and hung up around the perimeter of the camp to be brought home, steeped into a tea and sipped down, and viola! no fuckin brats....those pagan's were sure smart, too bad the modern desperate housewife is not as clever....but then they wouldnt be desperate.

so, yeah, i guess it serves the purpose of not having to deal with the <pain of being with family> (per the dr's quote), but it definitely is all about fucking. of course the so called christians needed to make this symbol belong to the church and turned it into the stoopid whatever it now represents.
