On a number of different levels, refunds are not ideal (on your end, you won't get your service fee back...on our end, we are charged a small amount per refund).

So, while you can start other threads if you like, these two threads will have their comments feed straight into the tickets page of the Pricless website, http://priceless.false-profit.com/tickets/. This means that when Tribe is acting funky, you can check out our site for updates from people who have/need tickets.

Priceless v2.0--September 26-28, 2008

Campers,

The time has come. Let's just get it out of the way, Priceless is officially on for September 26-28. Its gonna be exciting and wonderful and lovely, just as we were dreaming it to be in July. It will happen in Belden, CA again, the traditional site of our summer retreat. We are proud to bring our event there, not only because of the scenic location and the lovely Feather River, but because we now honor those hard working people who stuck with us up until July 3rd when we decided to postpone the event. Since then, they have worked every day surrounded by fire, bravely hosting the local firefighters and providing them with a place of nourishment and respite.

Priceless v2 will be very similar to how it was originally planned. It will be a little cooler (80's during the day, 50's at night) and a little more of a celebration of the end of summer, rather than the beginning, but a celebration of our community nonetheless. Its been a crazy summer and we have a lot to celebrate. There will likely be some changes to the music, art and activities we originally put together, but we're doing our best to keep things as close as possible and to fill in the gaps with new delights. We will continue to update the website with this information as it comes in and email you if needed. So please, mark your calendars.

We understand that there are will, undoubtedly, be a few of you who will sadly not be able to gather with us because of the rescheduling. It is our priority to help you out. We have been talking to Inticketing and together have set up a refund policy. The policy is that refunds are available to all ticket holders for the next TWO WEEKS ONLY (ending 11:59pm July 31st) with no exceptions. This is for two reasons. First, the service fees are non-refundable. Second, False Profit is charged a small fee for every ticket refunded. bus ticket refunds

What's the status of bus ticket refunds?

I have not received a credit for my 2 tickets for Bus #1, and the email on 7/3 canceling the bus said I should have by now. When are those refunds going to be processed? Will there be a bus transporting passengers to the event in September?

Priceless Update--Thanks for Your Patience

Dearest Campers,

First, thank you so much for your patience during this challenging process we're going through. Your letters of support, compassion and assistance have been truly touching. The greatest lesson we have learned in this whole process is that we are part of a wonderful community. Thank you to all that joined us last weekend celebrating at the BBQ in Tilden park and at EVAC! It brings us so much joy to see your smiling faces, especially during such difficult circumstances.

Second, down to business. False Profit over the past week, despite everything else that has been happening, has been drawing up plans for rescheduling Priceless. We have been talking to the folks up in Belden, to djs, to artists, volunteers and to the folks at Inticketing to find out the best way to take all of the energy and excitement leading up to this past weekend and transfer it into an equally amazing event come later this summer.

Where are we at with all this? Unfortunately, still in process. However, we don't just want to leave you hanging and that's why we're send you this note. But there is a plan. Next week all of the planners will be meeting to finalize the:

1) ticket exchange/refund policy developed with our friends at Inticketing

2) date for the rescheduled Priceless

As soon as we reach consensus on these two things next week, we'll draft another email to you to let you know the results. We hope this works for everyone. We're moving as fast as we can to get everything accomplished so that we can mark off in our calendars when we'll be playing in the woods together this Summer. Once again, thanks so much for everything.

EVAC! Saturday, July 5

San Francisco, CA (via Belden, CA) – While mainstream economists have been obsessing over soaring oil prices, economists at False Profit, LLC — more concerned with Life Quality Averages — have been glued to the screens watching the results of soaring global temperatures.

The results are not good: Belden is burning.

False Profit, LLC’s annual Life Quality Enhancement product, Priceless, was scheduled for release in Belden this coming weekend but has been recalled due to uncontained pre-apocalyptic wildfire. Insiders at the company are reporting that Priceless is now set for release later this summer.

In response, False Profit’s Research and Development Brigade worked frantically for two days to develop a replacement product. False Profit’s first response to the statewide catastrophe, called EVAC!, is set to be unveiled at a warehouse location in San Francisco on Saturday, July 5th, 2008.

“We are very happy to present EVAC! It was a labor of love,” said Stephen Trichter, Chief Internal Operations Officer at False Profit, LLC, referring to the newly minted party.

We didn’t start the fire… but we do know how to heat up the dancefloor.

After an emergency EVAC! this weekend — moving us from the riverside forest in Belden to a friendly warehouse in the city — False Profit demonstrated that when the heat gets turned up, there’s nothing to do but keep your cool. This Wednesday we continue our escapade, cooking up more community connections and fresh sounds, as we take refuge from the wildfires wreaking havoc in other parts of the state.

As with EVAC! this past Saturday, we are still looking to recoup some of the costs related to rescheduling Priceless, while also showcasing some of the talent that didn’t get to share their music with you in the forest. Donations are greatly appreciated... look for the box next to the pizzas.

LATEST PRICELESS UPDATE

Things are HELLUV dramatic and crazy here at False Profit HQ.

It is with sadness that we bring you the following news: We will not be having Priceless 2008 this weekend in Belden.

In the end, the choice wasn't ours. The woods are on fire and Highway 70 remains closed in both locations and an evacuation order remains in place for the community of Belden. We send positive thoughts and well wishes to all of the affected communities in the area.

We've been scrambling to find an alternate location and at the last possible minute, it looks like something may have come through.

We ask for your patience as we scope this location, we have a team on the way to determine if this property is feasible.

We will have a final answer about this venue within 2 hours, hopefully by 5 pm today.

If this venue is not workable, we are going to throw a kickass jumpoff throwdown to rock your faces off here in the city on Saturday night. We have an underground warehouse location secured and an insane dj lineup including some of the headliners that would have been at Priceless.

We know it's tough to remain without information, these are trying times for all of us. Thank you all again for remaining flexible and patient, we will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.

Hello Fun Seekers,

It’s been a pretty dramatic 24 hours for us. Here’s the latest news:

Priceless 2008 will be postponed to a later weekend this summer.
This weekend, we're gonna rock your faces with an event in the city, see below for more info.

As we’ve communicated up to now, the woods are on fire. There is no access to the original site in Belden and residents of the small community have been asked to evacuate the area. We’ve been on the phone to pretty much every conceivable property owner in the area and nothing seems workable. We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all those who have sent in suggestions, there have been some leads that seemed promising, that’s why we’ve waited until now with this decision.

Here’s where we are now:
We have decided that the best option is to reschedule Priceless 2008. We ask for your patience while we are figure out the best weekend to hold our event, it takes a little while to hammer out the details of staffing, venue and logistics. We'll let you know as soon as we reach a conclusion, likely in the coming weeks.

We also ask you, our community, for your support in this process. In addition to being a tragedy for the affected communities, the fires in Plumas county and the subsequent postponement of our event will have a huge impact on us, energetically, logistically and financially. We understand that some of you may not able to attend our event later this summer due to scheduling conflicts, but we ask you to do everything possible to find someone to sell your tickets to. We're not sure yet what the refund process will look like, but we do know that we’ll do everything possible to find a fair solution for all involved.

So, it looks like there's now a whole lot of people without plans for the weekend...Guess what, we’ve scrambled to line up something amazing. Join us on Saturday night for EVAC, a place for you to direct all that energy you had stored up for Priceless. As mentioned in the last email, while we can’t say much yet, we do know that IT'LL BLOW YOUR FRIGGIN' PANTS OFF. Those of you who have been to False Profit events in the past know that we do not fuck around and Saturday night will be no exception. This party will be at a local underground location. The insane lineup will be announced soon, but you can definitely expect a couple of the headliners that you would have seen at Priceless to blow it way the fuck up. We'll have some of the art from Priceless on hand and the shit will go off.

We're also keeping our plan to have a BBQ on the 4th of July for you all, so we'll be hauling grills to a local park, setting up lawn games and having a grand time outside. We really hope you can join us, more details will follow soon, by email, on our website and on Tribe.net.

Greetings Priceless Campers,

We met for four hours last night and have been anxiously checking the fire and highway conditions near Belden. We've also been on and off the phone with all relevant officials trying to get the most information possible.

It is with great sadness that we bring you the following news: We will not be having Priceless 2008 this weekend in Belden.

In the end, the choice wasn't ours, as Highway 70 remains closed and an evacuation order remains in place for the community of Belden. We send positive thoughts and well wishes to all of the affected communities in the area.

We have scrambled in every way possible to find an alternate location and so far nothing has proved workable for this weekend.

So, where does that leave us? We're not sure at the moment and we need a little more time to figure things out. Our team is moving ahead full force on two fronts:

One
We are doing everything we can to identify a venue for 600 people for this weekend, if you know of anything that might work (trust us, we've tried all the obvious locations), please contact stephen(at)false-profit(dot)com; we have set a deadline of 3pm for ourselves to find and secure a backup venue for Priceless this weekend.

Two
If we postpone the event to a later weekend this summer, our team is working on lining up a kickass party here in the Bay Area for Saturday night, stay tuned for details. We can't reveal much yet, but trust us, IT'LL BLOW YOUR FRIGGIN' PANTS OFF. Those of you who have been to False Profit events in the past know that we do not fuck around and Saturday night will be no exception.

Priceless Update--Fires and Road Closures

Hello Priceless Attendees,

As you are aware, there have been some pretty serious fires in Northern California, many in Plumas county, where Belden is located. This is where we have held Priceless for the past two years and have been planning our event for this year.

Recent developments are as follows:

*Hwy 70 is closed for the entire length of the canyon going in both directions (from Oroville to Quincy). Belden is in the middle of the road closure. There is debris from the fire up in the mountain occassionally falling into the road. This is the only route to Belden.

*There is a new small, yet very present, fire .5mi west of Belden.

*According to the manager of Belden, there are military helicopters prioritizing putting out this fire.

One important thing for you all to know is this: We are committed to only throwing this event if we are certain that we can do so safely and responsibly.

We are writing to you now to give you heads up that there is a chance that we will move or reschedule the event. While these are far from our first choices, we want to be sure that we are able to throw a safe and comfortable event. While we wait for more information from Fire Officials, Highway Officials and others, we wanted to make sure to keep all of you in the loop.

These guys have both been developing a very unique eclectic sound influenced by a wide range of musical styles over the years evolving into a powerful moving musical experience. I feel they are both at the heart of what beat church has been offering us all over these years and we are super excited have them back to bless the church with the beats and rhythm's from the new material they have been working on. Kitty D & myself will be aloting ourselfs a little more time to throw down for you where we have lacked the last few times due to such a full line up of guests. * 4th of July First Ever Priceless BBQ--Open Grilles and Open Decks (CDJ's) from 2 to 8 on Friday the 4th of July!! We'll have a whole mess of grills fired up and some basic condiments...you bring the grillables. Decks will also be open for any and all DJs. Get there early!

* During the Event:
o Let's hope none of you need this info, but...If there are any medical emergencies, we have professional medics available 24 hours a day at the tent marked MARS. It will be obvious, but feel free to ask any crew member or door staff.
o Alcohol and Nudity--Yes, these are some of our favorite things...Because our event takes place on what is considered "public land," visible consumption of alcohol and ALL nudity are PROHIBITED. It is possible that police officers will roll through the event and they will be looking for people openly consuming alcohol. So please, pour drinks into a cup if you're on the beach, in the street, at a stage, etc.
o We're thrilled to announce that for the first time, Priceless will have a food vendor! Please support Lydia's Organics who will have organic, raw, vegan & organic vegan cooked foods, including smoothies, fresh juices, nut shakes, flower infusions, teas and herbal chai, delectable salads and raw pizzas, nori rolls, Middle Eastern plates, Mexican flair and more.
o As mentioned, we'll be serving brunch on Sunday morning around 10 am.
* Note on fire spinning
o All fire performers must pre-register with Naomi by emailing safety.pricless@false-profit.com.
o Due to high fire danger fire performance is only allowed directly in front of lodge.
o Performers who have pre-registered are encouraged to join group performance in front of lodge on Friday at Midnight. Safety will be present at this time.

We have almost sold out of the second bus to Priceless (only five seats remain) so if you are on the fence it's time get off it and go buy your ticket here:

Wow. tribe pulled up. I'm shocked and yet refreshed for once to be back on here!

Recycadelica a Forest Gallery at Priceless:

Recycadelica will be a gallery of local artists who have created pieces with recycled materials or is pre-existing with mixed media. A wide range of pieces from metal works (some pieces by Dan Das Mann) to incredible tapestries (http://www.andresamador.net/analogia/gallery/Amys-Art), to wood works and special treats will be present. Our plan is to arrange them in the trees of Beldentown along with a confluence of lighting to brighten our paths! We are working as hard as we can to have solar power feeding the lighting and would love any tricks and loaner gear you can offer.

WE ARE ALSO ACCEPTING DONATED OR LOANER ART YOU WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THIS INSPIRING FEAT.
- preferably done with or on recycled materials (pre-existing art is fine as well!)

short list:
1 key on a keyring with a silver cross - was sitting on the DJ table (who has this? i don't)
1 plain black hoodie - men's - hanging from tree by steps up the waterfall near DJ booth
blue children's sweatshirt and sweatpants from old navy - WET
green towel
blue sweatshirt/hoodie - women's
cream knitted blanket / shawl thing

will post more details on the items later, but that's what i remember picking up off the ground....post here if you lost something and maybe someone found it....

overall - not a lot of trash or items lost and found. we left the park squeaky clean. thanks, party people!
